invite you to celebrate the beginning of our forever.
"And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy."
Every love story is beautiful — but ours is our favourite.
It began at a family gathering in Kannur — a chance introduction, a shared glance across a room filled with the scent of jasmine and cardamom. Neither of them knew then that this moment would rewrite the rest of their story.
Through the quietude of lockdown months, they found each other in words — late-night conversations stretching into dawn, discovering shared dreams, laughter, and the kind of comfort that feels like home.
Under the shade of a rain tree in the courtyard of Safwan's family home, two families came together over shared meals and warm tea. It felt, everyone agreed, like something long meant to happen.
On a quiet evening by the Kannur shoreline, as the Arabian Sea turned to copper in the sunset, Safwan asked. Afiya smiled before she even found the words. The answer was written all over her face.
Now they stand at the threshold of a new chapter — a life built together, rooted in faith, family, and an enduring love. We are so grateful you are here to celebrate with them.
Three days of joy, tradition, and togetherness.
An intimate evening of henna artistry, music, and celebration with the women of both families. Traditional Mappila songs will fill the air as intricate patterns are drawn in celebration of the bride.
The sacred solemnisation of their union in the presence of Allah and their loved ones. The Nikah will be performed by the family Qadi following traditional Mappila customs.
A grand celebratory dinner in the Malabar tradition — with the full warmth of Kannur hospitality, traditional biriyani, sweets, and dancing.
Formal traditional attire warmly encouraged. Ladies: sarees, salwar suits, or modest formalwear. Gentlemen: sherwanis, kurta-pyjamas, or formal suits. Colours of the Malabar earth — ivory, gold, maroon, green — are always welcome.
Kannur — the land of looms, theyyam, and the Arabian Sea — warmly awaits your arrival.
